We are ready for the Kakawa FC game – Umar Kareem

Immaculate FC’s versatile defender and vice-captain, Umar Kareem, believes his team is ready for the week-9 clash against Kakawa FC in the ongoing Dynasty Scouting League 2025 season 1.

The match scheduled for Friday, 2nd of May, 2025, at the main bowl of the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, will be the fifth instalment of this fixture in the DSL between the two teams.

Before the game on Friday, Immaculate FC had a better head-to-head record over Kakawa FC, who have won just one, drawn one and lost two games in their last four meetings in DSL.

Immaculate FC has scored four goals while Kakawa FC has scored three goals in their previous meeting.

In terms of the form guide in their last three consecutive games, starting from the most recent games, Immaculate FC won, lost and lost, while Kakawa FC drew, lost and lost.

“Kakawa FC are familiar opponents, and we respect them a lot because they play attractive football. The game on Friday will be another interesting game, but I believe we are ready for the task,” Umar Kareem told futebol.com.ng in a pre-match interview.

Kareem, who can comfortably play in any position in defense, said their win over De Elite FA in match week 7 has boosted the confidence of his teammates following their poor start to the league this season.

“We hope to keep the winning momentum. The victory in our last league game has changed our mindset; now we all believe in ourselves, and we believe we can win more games.”

When asked if he will score a free kick against Kakawa FC, he has this to say:

I wish I could say yes, but some factors would determine that; we need to have the opportunity for a free kick in a decent position before I will have the chance to play and then think about scoring.

Immaculate FC are presently 10th on the 2025 DSL S1 league table with 5 points but have an outstanding game, a week-8 match against D Shack FA that was postponed, while Kakawa FC are 8th on the league log with 8 points after eight games.
