Vinmo Energy FC defeated Prince Kazeem Eletu FC 0-2 in the round of 32, in the ongoing 1xCup to book their place in the competition group stage.
1xCup is an annual community football tournament sponsored by 1Xbet, and the 2025 edition is the third edition of the biggest grassroots tournament in Nigeria.
The match took place Wednesday, 30th July 2025, at the Inspire Sports Arena in Oshodi-Lagos, by 12:00 PM local time.
Vinmo Energy FC defeated Spiritual Movement FC 0-1 in the round of 64 on match day eight, while Prince Kazeem Eletu FC put three goals past Royal Asterisk FC to qualify for the round of 32 in this year’s edition of the 1xCup.
Following their road map to the round of 32, bookmakers and football pundits favoured Prince Kazeem Eletu FC to progress to the group stage of the competition.
Before the game, 112 goals had been scored in 40 matches, an average of 2.8 goals per match.
Both teams started the game on the front foot, with high expectations and determination, knowing that a win will take them to the group stage and if they lose, they will be eliminated from this year’s edition of the 1xCup. The atmosphere was electrifying as the fans of both teams came out in large numbers to support their team.
It was Prince Kazeem Eletu FC that got the first big chance of the game in the third minute, but Vinmo Energy FC’s goalkeeper Kingsley Okonkwo made a brilliant save to deny them.
Five minutes later, Suraj Oba, the goalkeeper of Prince Kazeem Eletu FC, made a double save to deny Vinmo Energy FC from taking the lead.
In the 14th minute of the game, Vinmo Energy FC’s centre forward and jersey number 9, Ocheje Godwin, scored a brilliant header to give his side the lead.
The first half ended 0-1, in favour of Vinmo Energy FC.
Precious Ogunyashe, Prince Kazeem Eletu FC’s jersey 10, who was his team’s best player in their round of 64 match, was introduced at the start of the second half; his combination in the midfield with Ramon Ishola Prince Kazeem Eletu FC’s captain, and Tobiloba Ashimi could not bridge the defence line of Vinmo Energy FC.
Prince Kazeem Eletu FC enjoyed more possession in the second half, but Vinmo Energy FC scored their second goal in added time through Abdullateef Nurudeen wearing jersey number 7. The match concluded with a score of 0-2 in favour of Vinmo Energy FC.

We prepared well for this game mentally and physically, so I’m not surprised we won against a good side like Prince Kazeem Eletu FC.” One thing that really helped us in this game was our ability to mark very well; everyone gave their best.” Segun Aiyeolowo, the captain of Vimno Energy FC, told futebol.com.ng in a post-match interview.

Vinmo Energy FC, along with fifteen other teams that will qualify from the round of 32, will join the four finalists from the previous edition of the 1xCup. This will result in a total of 20 teams, which will be divided into four groups, each comprising five teams.
The winner of the 2025 edition of the 1xCup will be awarded ten million naira, while the second- and third-placed teams will receive five million and three million naira, respectively.
