Sikiru Alabi shines against Leal SC in the DSL week 10 game.

Immaculate FC teenage sensation Sikiru Alabi shines against Leal SC in a week 10 fixture in the ongoing Dynasty Scouting League.

The game was played Tuesday, 13th May, at the main bowl of the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.

Following the absence of three first-choice midfielders – Gabriel Monday, Ogbu Peter and Owolabi Shola – Immaculate FC’s gaffer Adekanmi Raphael had no option but to trust Sikiru Alabi to play alongside Jooda Ayobami in the midfield against two-time DSL champions and DSL 2025 season one current table toppers Leal SC.

Sikiru Alabi wowed the fans with his confidence on the ball, calmness and golden touches; some fans wasted no time in comparing him with Sergio Busquets, former FC Barcelona and Spanish international, currently playing for Inter Miami CF (USA).

The lanky midfielder, who can comfortably play with both feet, has made only two appearances for Immaculate FC this season before today’s game, coming in as a sub for Ogbu Peter in the last 20 minutes in their last game against Kakawa FC and also as a sub against Utility Sports FC.

Alabi played all 90 minutes today and also had an outstanding game but could not secure a point for his team as Leal SC scored in the second half of the game that ended 1-0 in favour of the league leaders.

“We lost today’s game against a good side that has demonstrated how to win games since match week one, but there are some positives, and we must focus on the positive side, not the negative result.” Immaculate FC Director Mr Godwin Nse disclosed to futebol.com.ng in a post-match interview.

Alabi played a full match against a strong team like Leal SC and also played well; this shows that the future of the club is secure and in good hands. We hope he will continue playing like this in subsequent games because I am sure with such a performance today, the coach will give him more playing time moving forward.

With four league games to go for Immaculate FC this season, Alabi is expected to take his chances and establish himself as a starter on the team come next season following the potential departure of some first-choice midfielders at the end of the season.
