FC Bethel Sporting’s prolific winger and the current 2025 DSL season’s top scorer, Moses Ekundayo, scored a brace to ensure his team goes home with a point against Ilaji FC in the ongoing Dynasty Scouting League.
The match was a DSL week nine fixture that took place Thursday, 1st of May, 2025, at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.
Adetoro Ogunleye scored a brace for Ilaji FC in the first and 27th minutes of the first half, putting the team from the ancient city of Ibadan ahead.
While FC Bethel Sporting were trying to put their hearts together, Azuibike Maduka scored for Ilaji FC to make it 3-0.
Moses Ekundayo scored two important goals to ignite the famous comeback for FC Bethel Sporting, scoring very late in the first half and very early in the second half of the game to keep his team’s hopes alive.
Bashir Salim came in from the bench in the second half of the game to score the equalising goal for FC Bethel Sporting in the 71st minute of the game to complete the famous comeback for his club.
Moses Ekundayo has now increased his goal tally to 9 goals from 8 games this season and still remains the top scorer in the league so far.
“I’m delighted we are going back with a point after a difficult start to the game. I must commend all our players because we all fought till the end of the game,” Moses told fetubal.com.ng in a post-match interview. When asked how he feels after his brace, the FC Bethel Sporting’s jersey number 16 has this to say:
To be sincere, I’m glad I scored, but the most important thing is going home with a point in a game like this. This draw feels like winning because only a few people believed we could make a comeback after being three goals down.
Moses Ekundayo is leading the 2025 DSL S1 top scorers chart with 9 goals. With such an outstanding performance in his debut season in the league, it is very obvious his days are numbered in DSL, as we expect top clubs in Europe to fight over his signature soon.
